Actor Jose Fernandez stars in the film “Who Will Cry for Me,” which has just begun filming in Granada and Madrid.
Starring Ana Fernández, Julio Vélez, Laura Toledo, Jaime Pérez, and Jose Fernández himself, “Quién Llorará Por Mi” is a drama written and directed by Paco Izquierdo and produced by Milatium Producciones S.L., Alma Pícara, and Alta Studio Productions.
Synopsis:
San is a young man with an intellectual disability who lives with his mother. He is organized and a very special movie buff. He works three hours a day as a delivery person and is socially integrated. All of this is thanks to María, his mother, a teacher who has dedicated her life to ensuring that San can live a life just like everyone else.
They live in a small town in Andalusia, where young people no longer want to work in the fields; some want to leave, while others let life pass them by with resignation. When María is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given only a few months to live, she sets out to plan San’s future without her. And it is Luisa—her daughter and San’s older sister—who must take on the role of caregiver.
With María's death, San's life is thrown into turmoil, and with it comes a new era in which nothing is as María had imagined.
Jose Fernandez plays “Dani,” the son of Carmela and Manuel and a friend of San. Faced with the difficult economic and employment situation in the town—where the only future awaiting him is working in the fields—he refuses to do so and is unwilling to emigrate elsewhere to survive. He finds himself caught up in a plot that, without him being aware of his own actions, turns the town of Loja into a pressure cooker from which he will not be safe.
