Bio

José Fernández is aSpanish theater, film, and television actor, born in Málaga. He trained in dramatic arts in Málaga and Madrid, rounding out his education with specialized studies in acting for the camera and techniques such as the Meisner Method and Chekhov, as well aswith teachers such as José Carlos Plaza and Graham Dixon among others.

Her stage career began with Andalusian theater companies such as El Carromato and Axarco Teatro, where she appeared in productions of both classical and contemporary repertoire, such as *Blood Wedding*, *The Prodigious Shoemaker*, *Don Juan Tenorio* or Today Is a Holiday. He later continued his stage career with productions such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, I, Hamlet, Max’s Concave Dream, and Fuenteovejuna for the Golden Age Classical Theater Festival in Melilla, and touring throughout Spain.

In the movies, he has appeared in numerous feature films, including La Mancha Negra, by Enrique García, and *Who Will Cry for Me*, by Paco Izquierdo, a film for which she won the Lorca Award for Best Film as a co-lead. Her career also includes numerous short films, notably *Sálvame*, for which he received the Best Actor award at the Torremolinos Film Festival, as well as *Churrería Maravillas*, which won the Best Actor award at the Rome International Movie Awards in Rome (Italy), and *Nefissa*, winner of the Best Andalusian Short Film award at the Seville Film Festival, and appearances in television series such as *Arrayán* and *45 Revoluciones*, among others.

She combines her acting career with staged readings in contemporary theater circles, as well as with teaching—training new generations of actors—and has a solid academic background in the field of cultural management.

In 2026, he was named a member of the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts.
